It's time to expose some Xroads underground...

There is a bizarre inner city kids arts project in Xroads called Whoop Dee Doo that poses as a faux cable access show. Not for your sanitized nuclear suburbadroid family. HR Puff N Stuff meets Romper Room in drag. Highly GLBT octane induced. Check out the kids dancing to pseudo Grace Slick with Thrill Kill Kulters - about 16-18 minutes in. W.T.F. and it's dubbed. The effeminate emo krumper competing with inner city krumpers, the intro to 'fashion witch'. Also thrown in is a Chinese Dragon Dance group and Tibetan dance team. And that's just one episode.

Whoop Dee Doo!!!

More episodes, some lame, some extraterrestrial...
Whoop Dee Doo!!!

The KC troupe has performed shows in NYC, Chicago, Portland as well. They recently found a permanent home in Xroads.

Thanks for that link. I think the show needs a few more minutes in the oven. The drummer troupe was good. The asian girl performing her carefully prepared dance -- quite beautiful. A pearl amongst all the slop.

Well it's intended to be a half-baked mock cable access show with both performance and over the top goofy entertainment, GLBT produced. The psychedelic band performing to kids was pretty bizarre though - a la Sid and Marty Kroft psychedelic kids shows in the 70s. Another episode has a dirty diaper eating contest that was strangely played out.
