Check, Please! - Kansas City

The restaurant review program where regular viewers dine and dish on their favorite local eateries.

You can watch online shows and hear the likes and dislikes and gives price incites as well.

This should be a sticky.

Doug Frost is the host of the local foodie show. He's one of the few people in the world who is both a Master Sommelier (a wine steward certification) and Master of Wine (wine making). There are only 8 people in the US who are a Master of Wine and yes, one is based in KC. There are many (couple hundred I've heard) sommeliers in KC due to his presence. I know one of his proteges (Clay at JJs), who taught me a great deal about wine tasting and matching with food.

KC is getting a lot of media attention lately for its foodie momentum. Is great to see a local foodie show and even cooler that Doug Frost is hosting. I do wish he would do a wine segment though. It's just about local restaurants.

Ah, I've only seen the show a few times. I missed it or it's just some shows.

I love Check, Please, but man do they let some rubes on there!

Ya'll should check out the Check, Please Chicago when Barack Obama, at that time an unknown state senator, is one of the reviewers!

It started with foodie snobs but Doug wanted to include 'regular people' as reviewers, including firemen from Raytown.

If you saw yourself on there, would you think you were a rube?

Why did you point out firemen?

Uh, no probably not -- who thinks of themselves as a rube? What's your point? Have you watched a lot of the episodes?
