World's Worst Airport Terminals - Yahoo! Travel

I mean, given the volumes kcmo and some other posters have written about the deficiencies of KCI compared to other airport terminals, you'd think it would have topped the list. So how could it possibly be that it gets no mention here at all?

Just another example, I guess, of Kansas City being overlooked as a result of not being all it could and should be. Let's get that new terminal built so as to give KC a fighting chance for this kind of recognition.

Isn't it cute how Yahoo tries to still be relevant by creating ****ty web content?

Most people that fly through those airports have probably never even heard of MCI and if they did fly through MCI, they would probably expect the ghost town feel and backwards 1960 design anyway. I mean it's "kansas" so who cares right?

^That logic doesn't work because a French airline industry mag ranked KCI design as THE best in the world - and a few times if I recall. I don't care for the design either but the reality is, some people think it's better than most airport designs.

I know, I'm just saying that KCI and it's 9-10 million passengers a year is not really going to be in a list like that. Although Midway might be comparable to KCI.

Even I know that KCI's problems are pretty lame compared to a lot of airports. But it still needs to be ugraded.

Agree and agree. It's odd though that some people love the KCI design. So even if smaller airports were included in the OP link, KCI likely would not make the list of worst.

Count me among them.

And when the lemmings start with the tired old whining about security and how the "world has changed", I just grin and shake my head.

Nothing has changed - outside of our getting real stupid as a nation.

^But, whether you like or not, the restrictions for airports have changed and aren't likely to go back anytime soon. So wouldn't we want to deal with the very real problems caused by KCI's design?

Turns out our opinions are pretty much moot as KC is essentially getting a new airport in the end, but will take 10 years.

I hear Franz Kafka International terminals are full of despair and confusion.
