I'm getting ready to move to KCMO and because I work at home and plan to run my phone service and entertainment through the Internet, it's important for me to choose the right Internet service provider. I know Google Fiber will be coming in to much rejoicing, but there's no drop date.

We've been, somewhat surprisingly, happy with AT&T's pseudo U-Verse (no TV available, only internet). Few outages, great speeds, solid price.

AT&T U-Verse
I've got U-Verse internet here and I've been happy with it, the service tech who installed it was actually really great. He was on time, competent, prepared, and committed to getting the job done which was awesome. The service itself has consistently been as fast as advertised. I have had some connection blips, but it's usually resolves itself or on occasion restarting the modem. No sustained infrastructure level outages as far as I've noticed.
