Is anyone familiar with these apartments? Is the neighborhood fairly safe? How long would it take to commute to Lenexa from here?
My husband is starting a new job in Lenexa in a few weeks and I will be living in Joplin with our daughter, so he is looking for a cheap place to live during the week. Any feedback is much appreciated!
Thanks!

It looks like the address is in the vicinity of 82nd and Troost. Driving to Lenexa could take as much as 30 minutes in AM or PM commute circumstances.

What is the rental budget? Lenexa, Olathe, Shawnee and Overland Park have plenty of apartments that would cut down on the driving distance to the job. I ask, because Troost is that psychological dividing line between good and bad areas in Kansas City. A couple of months ago, a woman was "jumped" an apartment complex at that intersection, maybe the same one under consideration. She disappeared the same day about ten blocks from there-- no one has seen her.

I can't imagine any reason to live there if you're commuting to Lenexa. There are a lot of inexpensive rentals in Johnson County. I'd look for something a little closer.

Edit: Unless of course RadioSilence is talking about a different Colonial Point. I didn't bother to try and Google it. In which case, where is this place?

yea, why do people ask a question about a specific apartment complex by name only in a metro area as large as Kansas City? 99.999% are not going to have a clue where this place is and will just google the name to try to locate the area it's in.

If it is in fact at 82nd and Troost then there are probably many far better alternatives.

Not to mention the fact that new owners seem to like changing complex names. If Colonial Point is the complex I'm thinking of, I remember when it was President Gardens.
