[COLOR="rgb(75, 0, 130)"]I moved to Kansas City/suburbs--Belton/Raymore, last Sept, 2011.

I had a job before I moved here in Sept 2011 and by January 2012, I was let go. I have been struggling since January to find employment.

I have tried numerous medical positions I have found on the internet. I have a Bachelors degree in Computers/word processing and love customer service! It is my niche. My background is office/clerical in a hospital setting.

I have recently paid to have my resume revamped...at a significant cost.

How can I find a job that will pay me a decent wage with 'some' benefits? I know the labor market is shaky, but I left a state which had worse unemployment and was able to secure a job there.

Could it be that I need to know someone within an industry to find a helping hand?

I moved here to be closer to a family member who's health is deteriorating. ANY help is appreciated.

Thank you for the information. I have/am registered with the HCA website. I have looked at Cerner and that seems out of my league. I am not a software developer, more of a front-end user.
However, I did sign-up and created a profile with Cerner.

I do appreciate the feedback and will continue to look! Thank you again.

For Cerner, go to US careers then check out "Corporate and Operations" roles
example - Job Title: Operations Specialist Openings
Job ID:232536

Kansas City's private-sector jobs have declined by 2.8 percent during the past five years, and 0.58 percent over the past year. Surprisingly KC's economy currently ranks in the bottom half of U.S. metro areas. (U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics) -- With that said, you might want to give Sprint a good look. The companies stock has actually doubled in the past few months and they are just about to release the new iPhone 5 in the next few weeks at Sprint. They're currently over 200 available jobs in the KC region for Sprint on indeed.com -- everything from customer service positions, test market managers to product development engineers and admin assistants -- Good Luck!

Default To Techwired

Techwired, thank you for the feedback. Sprint is a company I have not even thought of. One reason is that some of the groups (unemployed) I have attended meetings for, have had laid-off and/or displaced Sprint workers. Nothing ventured, nothing gained! Thank you again.
