Hello everyone,
I will be relocating to KS for a job. My work location is on Fayette St. in N. Kansas city. I am looking for a safe quiet neighborhood (3 bedroom house or townhouse) that is close to work, but not right in the middle of the city. My budget is $1200/month. I love the outdoors, so anything with a nice views that may offer proximity to local eateries and shopping would be great (I basically want to be able to explore the area on the weekends without to much of a hassle). I will be renting as my job will transfer me to MSP after two years.
Thanks is advance for your help.

Check Briarcliff neighborhood, which is just N of downtown on a bluff with a nice skyline view, close to Fayette and 15min from airport. There are several new apt brand new apt buildings in Briarcliff in that range. Smithville Lake up NE of airport is good place for outdoor recreation.

Briarcliff is a good option - if I'm not mistaken, I know some people who live there who said that they offer a shuttle service to downtown on the weekends for $5 - which would make it cheap and easy to catch a ride to the city.

Wow, thanks for your quick response. I will definitely check out the shuttle service, that sounds ideal.

Also, look into some options right there in North Kansas City - City View Apartments are pretty nice and I believe there are some flats/townhomes right by the apartment complex, as well as many other places in that neighborhood. North KC is quite the charming little neighborhood in it of itself, as well as being very close to work for you and a short cab ride/walk/bike ride to downtown. (I, myself, work in North KC)
