Agreed. I tried it once and maybe I hit on a bad day, but they were very disorganized and the food wasn't anything to rave about.

The DFW area's In N Outs started opening about a year ago, maybe a bit more than a year. They were predictably mobbed at first but the furor has died down to the point where I'm not even aware when new ones open. I saw a new one the other day in Plano (suburb north of Dallas) and was surprised I hadn't heard about it. But there you go.

I've heard mixed reviews about the food; personally I haven't been to one.

Would looooooove to have an REI. Can't really think of any other major retailers we're missing out on though, and with Bass Pro and Cabela's, REI isn't really a must have.

Whitecastle actually started in Wichita and now the closest one is St. Louis I think. There was one on Truman Corners forever but it closed years ago...

In-and-Out Burger is private and the owners have said in the past they have no interest in franchising or nationwide expansion, so don't hold your breath for one of these stores. At their current rate, it'll be decades before they get to KC.

RE: White Castle....why would you need it as long as Town Topic and Hayes' are still around???

I'd love to see Whataburger. They're in Oklahoma City so maybe they would move north.

Even though it's similar to Chipotle, I'd also like to see Qdoba come to town.
I thought KC had Qdoba? Wasn't there one in Westport? It's pretty good, nice alternative to Chipotle. Does KC have Baha Fresh?

White Castle did well in KC. I don't get why they pulled out of the market. They were in KC into the mid 90's. StL has like 100 white castles yet KC has none which I never understood.

I think KC has just about everything. I wish this area had Taco Beuno or Taco Johns which KC has. I also kind of miss having a one stop place like NFM.

With NFM and IKEA, KC will be the destination home furnishing place for a huge area of the country.

My son has a huge lego city, so one thing I wished KC had was a lego store but they have those now.

I think it's dumb that places like Crate & Barrel etc are not located on the plaza rather than out in leawood but I digress. Also, why does KC have by far the worst Mills Mall. I mean what a fail that is compared to the ones in StL and metro DC.

It's by my work and I love it. Huge selection and good quality good. Not sure how it is getting bad reviews. I have had it a few times and it is right on par with Chipotle with a much larger selection.

OOh that's fantastic. FWIW, the deals at the web outlet are fantastic. Just bought a 6-person Kelty tent for less than $175 w/ tax (free shipping) We camped 2 weekends ago and it's by far the nicest, and easiest to set up, tent I've ever owned. It was originally more than $300.

Nice! I've always had awesome luck with their gear for backpacking, one of the few places I have to stop at in St. Louis.
