I will judge your city: September 2012

Unlike many outsiders (who just assume KC is a small flat cowtown-y backwater), this guy gives a fair and pretty insightful critique of "the city of fountains". So far, this guy has only reviewed Omaha and Kansas City (he likes KC way better). He gives some interesting facts behind the pros and cons of our beloved city, and he even refers to this website's (city-data) forums. He might be a fellow blogger to this site.

Do you think this guy did a good job of evaluating our city (details and all)? Check out the link, it's an interesting read.

P.S.: I know kcmo (the blogger) will agree with his assessment on our airport among other things.

This was posted before and is a pretty good assessment. Not sure how to respond on the crime portion as it's a bit sensationalized to bring up the Plaza shooting that only occurred one time in decades with no major injuries. It will be interesting to see what he says about Minneapolis as they have more issues in Mall of America including a 3 year old that was killed. Also he's using crime stats from 2009 when 2011 stats are out showing much lower crime ranking. MSP ranked same as KC is crime in 2009. Wonder if he'll mention that in MSP report.

Being a bit nit picky though as it's a pretty good assessment otherwise.

Wow. That was a VERY informative blog. I finally understood the whole KCMO, KCK, etc acronyms.

As a candidate for KCMO relocation, I found this blog really helpful. Can't wait to try some of that awesome BBQ!

Thanks for sharing!

Ha, yes, we should probably create a pinned post with the various acronyms you'll encounter in Kansas City.

I missed that blog the first time, but I'm always curious what an outsider thinks. We have an inferiority complex, undoubtedly, from decades of uninformed people telling us we're nothing more than a cow town on the plains. We have our shortcomings, but we're not as unsophisticated as people think.
