Although the building does not straddle state line, what is now the Carriage Club (in Missouri) used to be Mission Hills Country Club's clubhouse (The golf course is across State Line in Kansas). Set up solely this way to circumvent Kansas prior archaic liquor laws. Once KS somewhat loosened their liquor laws, MHCC sold the building to the Carriage Club and built a new clubhouse in Kansas.

When I lived in New Mexico, I frequented an establishment that served alcohol, that was on the state line of Texas and New Mexico, and the place had to adhere to two different state statues when it came to serving alcohol: for instance, alcohol cannot be sold on Sunday before noon in New Mexico, but can be in Texas.

In the case of Central States Beverage, it appears as though their mailing address in Missouri. I wonder if alcohol laws in Missouri are more lax than Kansas, thus the mailing address??

Out of curiosity, which one is 'The Bottoms'? Trying to learn more about the KC area in this thread, and it's very interesting in that it's one of the few cities I can think of that has a state land border splitting the city.

The industrial/warehouse building in your first link, which is near downtown. The West Bottoms is a area of "river bottom" land between the downtowns of KCMO and KCK.

I believe there is a library in Vermont that straddles the line with Canada. It's okay to walk around the full building, but once outside, it's another story.
