I lived at the talisman condominiums for over 2.5 years. I loved living there and had few problems with the complex itself. The other tenants are primarily older and retired. Get to know your neighbors and they will look out for you, plus they are really sweet. As for crime and neighborhood- to put it in perspective: I left my back door unlocked [on the ground level] for 85% of the time I lived there and I had no problems- nothing was ever stolen…etc.

Each of the condominiums is owned by individual owners. That being said, be careful!! Though the condominiums were great and home sweet home for me, I had A LOT of issues with the property group (NPT) that I was renting my condominium under. It would take weeks for things to be fixed and multiple attempts bc they didn’t want to pay the right person to do the work. In one instance, the same issue was NEVER fixed- they came to fix it 7 different times!! Failed each time. I had another issue that was never fixed as well. Frequently I had to email more than once-and sometimes call them in order to get someone over to my house. They would not accept any payments other than over the internet, which I am not comfortable with at all! Yet, they would not work with me. Hope this helps!!

Thanks very much PM for your candor -- Cheryl at Centennial Management showed me a unit there, but they dropped the ball during the rental process, which was a real turnoff, so I passed on that particular rental. I have a friend who lives there, and he has a very nice and quiet unit (he lives downstairs also). One thing I did notice is what you said about people there being friendly. They certainly are -- and that is one of the attractions to that community IMHO. Not sure if this applies to all units at Talisman, but I'm not crazy about the prospect of doing laundry in the basement... afraid of the Boogeyman.

So, did you rent it? I am following this thread because I am considering buying a foreclosure in Talisman condos. I am not from KC, but want to get closer to my kids and grandkids. It looks great from online. Anyone else have any experience with the Talisman condos??
