Somehow I doubt all "rednecks" vote Republican. I'd imagine many are union guys and vote for Democrats because of that. Not to mention several leading male country singers are Democrats (Toby Keith, Alan Jackson, Garth Brooks).

In KC the trendy and hip people seem to be mostly higher income people. I think this is typical of many Midwestern cities, like; Des Moines, Wichita, St.L, OKC, that why the "cool" places are in upscale areas. Out east in most small towns in NJ the hipness pervades all income levels.

Walmart started 4 HOURS DOWN THE ROAD. We're one of the closest major cities to Bentonville. Of course we have a lot of Walmarts, they were everywhere here loooong before it became a store of cheap chinese crap that everyone loves to hate but still shops at.

It's a crap stat to go by.

Oklahoma City, OK ( Bingo Every County In The State of Oklahoma Voted RED )
Nashville, TN ( Both Nashville and Memphis Tennessee are BLUE CITIES ) floating in a sea of RED
Tulsa, OK ( Every County In The State of Oklahoma Voted RED Including Tulsa County )
Fort Worth, TX ( The Nicest RED neck City In America )
Arlington, TX Most Liberal Cities, Most Conservative Cities, Most Democratic Cities, Most Republican Cities ...Reddest City
Sacramento, CA ( Democratic City And The American City With The Most Racial Diversity ) LOL..
Cleveland, OH *( Come On Now Give Me A Break )"
Mesa, AZ Most Liberal Cities, Most Conservative Cities, Most Democratic Cities, Most Republican Cities ...Reddest City
It would appear that you haven't been to many of these places. Or perhaps you have, and just stuck with the midtowns and art museums.
Also, there are a LOT of democratic rednecks, by the way. A LOT. It can appear to be a strange phenomenon to those unfamiliar with it. They're still hanging on to the "democrats look out for the little guy" spiel.

True. Walmart has had a much longer time to get a foothold in that part of the country. It started out very small and then went regional before going national and so on. The smallest of towns in that area often will have their own Walmart. Not because they're redneck towns or whatever, but because that's been a local mainstay for a very long time.
Growing up in it's territory, I remember going to Walmart back in the 70's when it's stores were not much bigger than a Dollar General, even the ones in the larger towns.

Obviously not all, but definitely most. It goes along with being ignorant.

I like country music and I'm not even sure it's most. What makes you think most are Republicans?

What goes along with being ignorant?

I don't know if there is a corresponding term (redneck) for the African American community, but some places in the city you go you can find some mighty countrified black folk.

It's Ours Prerogative ( To Self Determine ) What A Redneck Is And Is Not To Us.....to an African American as myself that just might mean that they are people that love and glorify the values of the confederacy of the old timey southern United States of America......LOL..FOMC

The only places that I have not been to on that List are listed below

1. Nashville Tennessee
2. Cleveland Ohio
3.Mesa Arizona...Tho I have been to Phoenix many many times
