They are there, but Bud Brown that was on the southeast corner of 91st and Metcalf is gone. There's a Wendy's there now.

That's another indicator that Google Maps images are typically a year or more old. It still shows what looks to be the old car dealer building....abandoned. How long has the Wendy's been there?

Just a few months. But of course, the spot was empty for a little while between when they tore down Bud Brown and Wendy's was built. Can't say how long because I didn't pay that much attention. The Wendy's went up fast, though, once they started building it.

I never had any interest in Chrysler/Plymouth products, so I'd say that Wendy's is a far better use of that space.

Bought two new cars at Classen-Morse, though.

Yes, I do. Up around 80th, wasn't it? Near downtown OP?

How about Andy Klein Pontiac? Is it still there?

Yes, probably about 80th. That's where the used Honda dealership is now. The new Hondas are a block down and across the street.

Andy Klein is still there.

Flashback Thursday one day late. Children's Palace was on 91st and Metcalf across the road from the Glenwood Theater. An open field was beyond that area southwest of Glenwood. I recall a Luby's Cafeteria on the northeast corner of 91st.

There was a blue handle you had to squeeze to make the cart move lol!

So what are they doing with that area since K-mart closed? I get the feeling K-mart is a dying brand. I don't even know where one is here in Denver. And remember Venture on the SW corner of 95th and Metcalf? I think it closed in the late '80s.
Venture! An 80s flashback for sure. I went there often when I was younger and I definitely recall that the carts had brakes on them. The exterior façade had a distinctive color scheme of black and white. They seemed to sell a lot of downscale and discounted merchandise.

Here is one of there commercials:

And this is a local clip from KCTV5 from 1988:

Also another interesting fact: Target pulled out of the Kansas City market and did not enter back in until the late 1990s, after Venture became defunct. If you read the Wikipedia that should make sense as the two are related. The opening of the Olathe "Target" in the late 1990s was a "big deal" at the time.

It's south, not north, of 79th. It's actually at about 81st. And it's called something else now. It's changed owners a few times. I don't even know what the name is now.
