I am getting married May 31st and I am trying to find a small church or a church with a little chapel in the Kansas city area. The preference would be somewhere in the country....outside of the city but I am open. Does anyone have some suggestions other than Pilgrims or Powell Gardens. I do not want to spend $1000 plus on the ceremony. It is a small wedding just family and close friends. Please help!

Not in Kansas City, and not out in the country - but Danforth Chapel on the campus of The University of Kansas is what comes to mind. Danforth Chapel | Student Involvement & Leadership Center

Another small college chapel about the same distance from the KC area is the one at Baker University in Baldwin City, KS. My friend got married there and I honestly have no idea what costs run at but it was a nice little venue.

It's in the city, but St. Theresa's Academy in South Plaza/Brookside has a small chapel. I have no idea what they charge for use, however.

Have you looked at the big stone Christian Church on Ward Parkway? It has the smaller chapel next to it? I've been to a couple of weddings there and it's lovely.

Baker university has Osborne Chapel it runs $200 for students and $400 for non students. The church next door is called first methodist and runs about $100 for a reception location. Both locations are nice especially for photos outside.

^^ The building at 38th and Gillham is Pilgrim Chapel, which the OP didn't want.
