I hate the way cops are viewed by so many people. Yes, there are some bad cops out there, but most are great people. I thought these were cool videos.

Yep, people forget cops are simply human beings like us who chose to go into a profession to protect the rest of us. We only love cops when we need them !

If cops would start doing more things like this, maybe the more "urban" parts of town would trust the police.

And maybe if the "urban" parts of town would start doing some things differently the police would not have to do some of the things they are forced to do. Quid pro quo.

yes except the cops should be the bigger man and do it first, they can't lead by example while waiting for something to happen

though, I've had nothing but good interactions with KC police, though I don't have many interaction with them, they are polite in the stores, that count right?

I wasn't blaming the police for anything. I was simply saying that by getting out there in the community and trying to establish relationships with people, that may change "urban" perception of police.

I don't think Kansas City cops are any different than St. Louis/Ferguson cops or cops anywhere else. I think the situations are/were different. I think some people don't respect authority, and even if the cops "got out there in the community and tried to establish relationships with people," the result in Ferguson would have been the same. Even if cops are nice, there are going to be thugs and people who hate police.

I do like to see KCPD interacting with people like this, though.
