Hello,

I am moving to the Kansas City area in the next few weeks for work. I will be working in Leawood, KS but I want to live in Kansas City, MO. I am a 30 year old female who would like to live in a safe area with a lot of restaurants and shopping.

I found a nice place in the Oak Meyer Garden/Brookside area. Is it safe? Any information you can provide on the area would be helpful. Thank you

Yes, Oak Meyer Gardens and Brookside, in general, is perfectly safe.

It is a fairly quiet, family oriented place, but there is still a good amount of restaurants and shopping nearby. The Brookside shops are centered around 63rd St. and Brookside Blvd. You will also be fairly close to the Waldo, the Plaza, Westport, etc so you should have plenty of options in the near vicinity.

That's a nearly idyllic area, especially if you are working in Leawood. Very convenient, ridiculously charming, and very, very safe.
