Yeah, why wouldn't it be?

Though of course some people have stereotypes.

If your a white guy you can date any race and no one will care. (usually.... I've dated a few black girls and been given the evil eye by rednecks and some black people, but oh well)

If your a white girl you can date any race and no one will care with exception, if you are dating a ghetto black dude people will think your trash. People would think the same of a white guy dating some ghetto black girl, but you are less likely to see that. Not trying to sound racist, just being honest with stereotypes some people have

If you are asian male, you can date anything

If you are asian female your own race will look down on you for dating outside your race, and to quote my korean friend "if my daughter ever dated a black guy i'd kill her". This has to do with the social hierarchy from Asian cultures, in their own culture they look down on darker Asians, assume they are poor, dark skin from having to work in fields, etc. You can go on youtube and see people calling Vietnamese asians jungle asians and low class. Asian good, white bad, black is worst. (of course you will find those that don't care at all also)

Hispanic, no one will think anything of any race your with most likely, regardless of male or female. Though they may if you speak with an accent or are darker.

So basically no one will care, but it can always depend on your location. At UMKC no one will care they are open minded, you go south of the river and no black people will care if your a white girl with a black guy, but they may care if your a white guy with a black girl. Etc etc etc.

95% of the time, no on will care. And you shouldn't care what people you don't know think of you

She probably doesn't care a lot what people think, but sometimes areas that don't accept interracial couples are violent towards them.

I see.... Well I doubt she would experience that here. A few people may make assumptions, but I wouldn't think there would be any violence...

I just mean in general. Being accepted in a community isn't just about what people think of you, sometimes things can turn violent.

Kansas City is very diverse and interracial dating is common. I'm in a 21 year interracial relationship. Everyone has haters but there a lots of mixed kids 20 and under throughout the city. I don't know a lot about the UMKC campus but it's near Westport and the Plaza which are very liberal parts of town.

You might face some strange looks and the rare outburst by some shallow person but I doubt you will face any violence or confrontation.

Having dated a black girl for 4 years (recently seperated), I found the best way to go about this is "who cares". If someone really has a problem with the way you find love by the skin of someone then it just shows THEIR ignorance. I expected to recieve comments from people for 4 years, but during that time I never did. People have grown up since the 'old days'.

I never cease to be amazed at the amount of ignorance that abounds out there about the Midwest, and KC in particular.
