Average utility cost for 4,000 sq ft home (Kansas City: house, utilities)

Hello!
Anyone have an idea what the average utility cost would be for a 4,000 sq ft home in Kansas City? We are moving and creating a sample budget. We’d love some insight! Thanks!

Hmm. My house is only 1600 sq ft, but I'll give you my numbers. Of course it depends on what utilities you have.

My electric bill last month was $189, and I note it was VERY hot. Last year it was more like $150 for the same month. Needless to say it goes down in the spring and fall, and is somewhat high in the winter, but not as high as in the summer.

Water around here is fairly expensive. My bill last month was (I think) about $85, which includes a fair amount of lawn watering due to a drought we've been having. It's only me in my house, so I have only 1 person taking showers, etc.

I have gas heat and gas water heating. I think in the winter that goes up to something like $120, but last month it was only something like $40.
