Default Need advice on moving to KC Area

Hello everyone! This is my first post on these forums, so let me explain my situation

My husband and I are trying to move from NC to MO within the next few months. He is from Bates County, but I have lived on the coast of NC my whole life. We have 2 boys together (6 and 3) that I home school. We are looking for a nice neighborhood to live close, but not in KC (preferably a 30min commute or less). I'm not too terribly concerned with school districts at this time, and have done a lot of research on some of the towns in Cass and Jackson counties. What I'm having a problem with is finding a home to actually rent. I can find town homes/apartments, but we have never lived in one and really don't want to. I'm used to hurricanes, not tornadoes, so I really really need something with a basement
Is there an online site that I haven't been able to find that has listings? Most real estate agencies only list homes for sale and we are not looking to buy just yet.

Thanks in advance
