Kansas City, has one of the very worst records for murder in the US
Black people killing Black People
I have been notiably critisized for my loss of Love for this place, but come on people...tell the truth...even if I can't spell...I can still think...that is more than the rest of this city can do. I hate it here, and as soon as I can leave, I will. NOTE... It is not the Mayors fault that this city is so bad...but everyone has to blame him..because that is just a way of blaming someone besides themselves for the problems...I am not a funk lover...but the truth is the truth

Who cares about Funkhouser you dummy. You are calling people in city hall hillbillies while supporting Funkhouser, yet Funkhouser is the biggest hillbilly in politics that I have ever seen. Certainly in KCMO.
Black people killing black people? Congratulations on your amazing wealth of information on urban crime!
A lot of major urban cities with large inner city minority populations are in the same boat. It must be the hillbillies!!
Where are you going to move to? Let me guess. Waco!

Really? By whom? Your city-data account is all of one hour old. Unless that is you have multiple accounts and/or you're ban-evading.

Uh, back on topic: I think of the old days, the Pendergast era, bustling stockyards and the open-air observation deck at Municipal airport where you could watch TWA fire up its Connies.
I also remember the first time I was in Municipal Auditorium...I was totally in awe.
Fergusen's go-kart supply at 39th and Troost...they had everything you could possibly need.
The Bryant Building at 10th and McGee where my sister used to have to visit a doctor. We would spend all day downtown and it was alive with people. I don't remember ever seeing a bum.
The Nelson Art Gallery, the KC Museum, Loose Park, the Plaza, Westport....I could go on.
But one thing I'm not wild about is the BBQ. Maybe I have not gotten over the Smokestack trying to kill me with salmonella. I've never been so sick, thus BBQ is way down on my list of favorite foods.

I think of art, especially the Nelson ("The Met of the Midwest" as they say), but also the many small galleries, and even restaurants like Grinders. And I think of First Fridays in the Crossroads. My theory is that artists flock to Kansas City, not only for one of the best art schools, but because it's cheap.
I mean REALLY cheap in comparison to most cities. I rent a 4 bedroom 3 bath house for only $800 a month. Not many other cities you can get that kind of deal.
I don't like to think about downtown since the put the P&L there. Couldn't they have put it in Lee's Summit or JoCo where it belongs!? Just seems very out of place to me.
And I think about how much better Midtown could/should be, considering it's between downtown and Westport.
Of course the BBQ and beef in general. When I lived in Jacksonville, FL, the beef was TERRIBLE.

Back on the original topic-- I don't go to KC as often as I go to StL, a function of in-laws being in the latter, so what I associate KC with is...food, glorious food. Stroud's. Oklahoma Joe's and Fiorella's and even Arthur Bryant's on a good day. The fact that the American Royal BBQ tournament was opened up for us civilians to try some. Good steaks that aren't priced as if they were 24kt gold.
I think that this has a salutary effect on other restaurants in the area-- that's not to say that everything is wonderful, but I've had some of the best Chinese and Mexican food I've had in the midwest in KC.

You are such a tool photopro, nobody wants you here. Everything you have said about KC makes you a total troll and none of your arguments are valid whatsoever. I could safely assume you're a prepubescent suburbanite that has yet to leave your house and see what KC has to offer.
