KC natives in our 50's moving back with our 18 year old. After being gone for so long I don't feel confident in my knowledge of the area. One of the biggest challenges we're going to face is healthcare for me (in particular pain management). I have a genetic condition along with several comorbid conditions that unfortunately leave me with excessive amounts of physical pain. I'm petrified I won't find someone willing to keep up with my current regiment or at least be willing to help me have some quality of life. We're focusing on the MO side in case I need to utilize medical cannabis.

So, I guess I'm asking for guidance on good areas for a place with maybe 1-5 acres land, small to moderate size home with garage(s) and hopefully place to park an RV. Hoping to find something that we could also accommodate aging parents in the future if necessary.

No realtors please, mostly looking for advice/guidance on location and healthcare. Hoping to be within 30-45 minutes of downtown KC area if at all possible. Thanks!!

I would consider KU med, I beleive they have a highly rated pain clinic. If you are looking for a place with 1-5 acres, I am not super familiar with the rural exurban areas around KC, but I would first look at the area of MO, that is west of 435 but NE of the river. I am not sure you would find what you want there, but it is pretty close to KU med as far as rural land goes, and it is in MO.

It’s been a few years now, but my late MIL got great relief at the North Kansas City hospital pain clinic. You could look for houses in the Kearney/Excelsior Springs/Lawson/Holt area. Basically eastern Clay County or western Ray county. Good chances for small acreage and more modest homes there.
