Hopefully there will be ones doing the in person sit down, not like last year where they STILL were afraid of COVID, despite the millions of restaurants open all across the country at the same time. The main fun of the fish frys is to meet other people and enjoy eating with your neighbors/fellow church members on a non Sunday. Getting carryout fish to eat at home makes it in the same league as Captain D's or Long John Silver, i.e. not that great!

If the OP is looking for an every-Friday fish fry like you’d find in Wisconsin, I’m not aware of any in the Kansas City area.

But a Lenten fish fry…..I know the Catholic Church in Smithville is resuming theirs this year after a two year absence. Can’t help you with Johnson County, you might just have to call around.

It would be a great restaurant concept for someone wanting to start a new business, Supper Club with a Friday fish fry option- something very common in many areas of the Midwest, not common at all further south.
