I'm guessing in the 64111 Zip Code near the Plaza-Westport-Nelson-Art Institute.

Well, "cool and hip" are very subjective.

I think the previous post is on the right track. Midtown (which includes 64111) is an obvious choice, as well as Downtown areas like Crossroads, River Market, Westside, Columbus Park, etc.

Some of the real hipsters might think those answers are too obvious and choose somewhere a little more up-and-coming or under-the-radar like The Historic Northeast, Manheim Park, or Strawberry Hill area (you know, so they can say they lived there before it was cool).

Shoot, one of my favorite T-shirts — one I wore to good effect at Big Charlie's Saloon in South Philly (aka "Arrowhead East") for Super Bowl LII — is one that reads:

"I lived in Kansas City BEFORE it was cool."
