Default Kansas City here I come?

Hey guys. I want to address this question all you KC people. I'm thinking about moving to KC from Chicago. I'm in my mid thirties, single, with no dependents. Where is a good place to live to start a new life off, and how is the job market out there for a person in my situation? All (positive) advise will be much appreciated. Thanks

Are you buying a house or renting? If buying, look into Platte County, which is north of KC, it will be the place to buy around KC. If renting, might as well try to find some place down by the Power and Light District in the heart of downtown.

This also depends though on your job and where it is. If you are working in Olathe, I would be against moving to the northern part of KC (platte county) as it is going to cost you quite a bit in gas.

I would say if you are single and in your 30's to look into Downtown, Midtown and the Plaza whether you buy or rent.

What sort of work do you do?
The areas mentioned above are in the city and are great options, but don't discount the 'burbs either if you prefer suburbs to city. Lee's Summit and Parkville are my personal favorites.

Single in your thirties--MOVE DOWNTOWN. There are lofts to rent and buy. It would be a great investment. And I35 and I70 are right there. The suburbs offer nothing for someone your age.

5324 Cottage Court, Kansas City MO 64133 - Trulia

Search Kansas City , Mo, Overland Park, Ks, Olathe, Ks Real Estate Listings For Sale

5324 cottage ct
mls 1477401

This is my house, we are from the Chicago burbs. My husband got transferred by the govt and now he was transferred back to Chicago. We have been trying to get rid of our house. It sits on an acre, we did alot of work to it. Now we are trying to find a house here in Naperville. Huge price difference. You will never find a decent acre here for under 500,000! It is a great area, on a cul-de-sac, and our neighbors are city empolyees, military, good solid people.
