Many folks, including long time Kansas City family, will tell you that Kansas City has almost a 'western' culture that is similar to the large cities in Colorado, Nebraska and Utah. I have also heard many times that, despite the St. Louis "arch" (symbolic of passing from the Eastern US to the Western US), Kansas City is the real gateway to the West. Just passing on what I've heard.

Why did people even respond to this post? Really, there isn't rampant racism in Kansas City? The fact that the OP expected it is pretty pathetic.
