Default Move to the big city

I am currently from Topeka, KS and plan to be moving to the downtown KC area around December. I have been reading reviews of the lofts downtown and I'm not very impressed. I looked into the Soho South and West lofts and was very intrigued. However, I am seeing mainly negative feedback. I am very excited about the move as I am from a much smaller city and have been quite sheltered. So here are my questions...if anyone can help me out....First of all, would anyone recommend the move? Lots to do? People to meet? I have been to KC maybe 4 times and not extensively at that. Also, does anyone know about these lofts or even nice apartments at a decent rate to rent??

Much Appreciated!

Yeah, I'd definitely recommend it. Should be a vast improvement over Topeka in those areas.

I can't tell you anything about the Soho lofts, personally. If you're looking at downtown, I know that the current availability of rental units is pretty slim.

I think you will enjoy life in the city. The experience alone is worth it. I have some friends that live in Soho West. They love it. They are both professionals and enjoy the nightlife that the new Power and Light District has to offer. I am jealous that they rarely have to get into the car to go anywhere. Let me know if you want more info.
