Default Resonable hotels near Union station

I am planning to visit KCMO in September and will be traveling there
by Amtrak. I was wondering how many (if any) resonably priced hotels
would be near to Union Station. I want to go to the Plaza area
and visit the Nelson Atkins plus a few other things. I should ad that I
want to use public transportation if possible.

Thanks

The hotels nearest Union Station (Crown Center Hyatt and Westin) probably wouldn't be reasonably priced. You might want to look a little bit south along Main Street for better rates. There is a Fairfield Inn nearby at 30th and Main, an EconoLodge at 32nd and Broadway, Best Western at 43rd and Main.

Any of those would put you within a good distance to the Plaza and the Nelson, as well as Union Station and Downtown with access to the MAX Bus route along Main St.

Thanks much for the information on the hotels wiseowl/sayshoot.
I appreciate it very much. I'm sure those will all work just fine.

I did not try it, but was told on another post to try priceline.com for a hotel downtown. Search by 4 star and the choices are Westin or the Hyatt. Try putting in a bid for $75 to see if either of them will take it... or less?!?! We had to have the Westin as we had our dog with us.
That said, it was a great place to stay. Walking distance to many great things to see and do.
Also try calling the Westin and Hyatt directly and ask if they have any specials going on.
good luck!
