Puppy/Dog play groups? (house, yard, friendly)

I have a 12 week old Lhasa Apso/Poodle mix pup that I want to socialize. We'd love to have a meet up with other puppies or small breed dogs to play sometime... does anyone know of any existing play groups? (I don't want to take him to the dog park yet cause he is small and gets easily distracted and might not come when I call him. I'm looking for a small, more controlled group.)

Use a leash. I have a 5 month old and I used a leash the first time. After that, he knows where I am. Sometimes he gets caught up in all the dogs and people as I walk on so I have to call him and he comes running...LOL

I have a cairn terrier and scottish terrier and would love to join a small dog play group! We don't do the play yards because of skin diseases etc. that get passed around.

I have some friends that host pug meets at their house and they often have puggles there.

I have a 1 year old Beagle and I would love for him to have another dog to play with from time to time. He is super sweet with other dogs. Anyone interested?
