Not dangerous, really, but not the nicest part of Independence.
Unfortunately, it can be somewhat high crime area, but certainly but not much violent crime, if that's a redeeming value.
Fairmount's an old, sort-of rundown and low income area, but there are a few well kept houses there. Very affordable.
