Default I need to find a place for my pitbull, fiance, and me

Can SOMEONE, ANYONE, pleassssssseeeeee help me find a place to live that will allow my pitbull to reside with us. We are moving into Missouri from NY and want to live in the KC area. I understand the whole breed crap and I keep getting different answers from people about pits. One person says they are restricted, and then Animal Care says they are allowed, they just have to be fixed. HELPPPPPP. PLEASE. I need a location that DOES allow pits, and a home that DOES allow pits.

Please, I'm starting to feel like Missouri is a wrong move and I'd like to give you guys a chance. However, my dog comes first. If she can't be with me and comfortable without being muzzled, then the KC area is not for us. But I won't give up without a fight. PEASE HELPPPPPP.

Each city has its own rules. Some do not allow them at all. Others allow certain ones if they are registered for show. I believe Independence also requires that they be neutered unless the owner can prove they are registered for breeding purposes. Even then, limits are set on how much freedom you can allow them. Independence, a suburb of Kansas City is one of these. In this city, all dogs are required to be on leases when off the property. On the property, they must always be under control of the owner which means a fence they cannot jump.

Those are the requirements. Not everyone abides by them but Animal Control people are very diligent about the law-breakers. I am sure you see both sides of the story. Independence has had some real tragedies in the past and they weren't always pits. They have also had problems with dobermans.

I would say that Kansas City has similar laws. Best is to write to the Jackson County Clerk and ask him to get accurate information for you.

Please do not give up on the Kansas City area. If you like a "laid-back" friendly city, Kansas City and its environs fills the bill. It is a very large seven-county area of one suburb after another. It takes a lot of patience to find just what you want but, once you are here, I don't think you'll regret it.
