Looking to live in the sticks outside of KC! ??
Hey Gang. Bonafide East Tennessee Mountain HillBilly here.
I have been offered a good job in N. KC, MO.
Now I'm tempted to take the job, but sure don't want to live in the city/suburbs of North, KC. So for a feller like myself, where would you suggest I research into relocating too? A place with woods, vertical terrian(??), peace, quiet, with hunting and fishing would not hurt either.
Any suggestions would be immensely appreciated on some "middle of no-where" places to live outside of N. KC would be appreciated.
I'd love to have the job, but from what I saw it's "city everywhere." I did get to go up the "FF" road around platville. It was looking a little better but ran out of time to search furhter...
Thanks, 1st post, and y'all got a really nice forum board here.
Tres

Are you serious?
I would say go east along 210 around Missouri City. That's a pretty "HillBilly" area or at least rural and would be the closest rural area to NKC.

Message me, I'm a lifelong Northland resident and live in the country as well. I'm also a Realtor and I can give you some suggestions.

Maybe north of Platte City or Smithville.

Sticks you want to the north and hills. Then go to the Amazonia area north of St Joe. You can jump off a bluff into the Mo river should you desire. I don't reccomend that!

I would check out Weston Missouri. Its a easy and quick shot to North KC, many acres of land, and many rolling hills.

I would suggest Holt or Lawson. I would not suggest Lathrop as it seems flatter with less trees. Good luck to you.

I second Weston. Lovely downtown, beautiful rolling green hills with lots of land to get away from it all.

The beauty of KC is that you don't have to drive far AT ALL to get to countryside, unlike more sprawly metropoli.

For its size KC has quite a sprawl problem.
To the OP: Any town along the Missouri River will have nice varying topography with some hills and bluffs.
