Looking for a good mechanic by Parkvile/Northland
Just relocated to Parkville/Northland from Chicago. Car needs repair. Prefer not dealer since they charge a lot. Already looked at yellow pages. Kindly share a local mechanic that you trust your car for repairs. Thanks.

Until I got a new car a couple of years ago I used Leibrand's. They don't work weekends which can be a little inconvienent, but he's very honest and his fair prices more than make up for it! He's in Riverside, just off of Vivion Rd.

I like Above and Beyond Auto on North Oak. It is near N. Oak and Englewood intersection.
I know they are honest because I have heard them send people other places because they knew the other place could do it much cheaper than they could. They are the only place in the Northland that I havent experience dishonesty with.
I used Leibrandt's once in a recommendation and they charged me a few hundred dollars for something they didnt fix. They will never get my business again.

Mechanic
Howdy, I don't live in Gladstone at this time but my brother, sister and father always use a shop that is located on N.E. Antiock Rd. just south of the intersection of 72nd st. This shop sits on the west side of Antioch Rd. I cannot remember the name of them but when I lived there they did all my work since I didn't have a garage of my own. They were always fair to dad and he never had a bad thing to say about them. You might want to give them a try. Best of luck since finding a really "good" mechanic is a lifelong quest in many cases.

There isnt anything for a few blocks on the west side of Antioch coming from 72nd. Do you know the name? The first businesses that are there after a long stretch of green space are a bank and a dance school.

If you start at the intersection of 72nd and Antioch Road you will go south about 1 block from the intersection and on the west side of the road is a repair shop. It's going to be approx. 7100 N.E. Antioch Road. It is just after those section 8 appts.

I think you may be doing what most people have always done by mistaking where Antioch Rd. and MO Hwy 1 separate. Antioch Rd. goes to 72nd st by going past White Chapel Funeral home and cemetary and across the street from that is the Catholic church and school. The shop will be further north down the road and just before getting to 72nd st.
People have always thought that Antioch Road goes on straight up to HyVee but it's actually Hiway 1. The two road separate by the Quick Trip just past McDonald's. If you turn at the Quick Trip and go east, you will be on Antioch Road which will curve around at the light and go on down and around the cemetary. That has confused folks since the 60's.

Good, honest mechanic in the Northland
Boyet,
I've been taking my cars to Kenny's on Vivion Road in Riverside for nearly ten years. Kenny will not do anything to your car that it does not need, and he does not overcharge. Kenny's is an old gas station-looking building across from a small strip mall on Vivion just a block or so east of Sonic. I'll vouch for him any day. In fact, if they let me say it here, you are free to tell him Lanie recommended him.

Well, I am aware they seperate. I grew up just about 4 blocks from where Hy-Vee and Wal-Mart are. I still call Hwy 1 Antioch though. It's always been easier to do that because as you said, most people dont know they seperate and if you said hwy 1, people get confused.
So, you are referring to the actual Antioch road. If so, I know where you are talking about.
