Both sides of the state line. I have never seen a major city where people can't get up to speed to merge onto a freeway, people that don't move over from the left lanes when being passed on the right, people that are just on cell phones at a rate that has to be tens times what you normally see in a major city. Get off the cell phones people. Where the JOCO people are the worst are in the city. When I see a car drive aggressively through areas with a lot of pedestrians like the plaza, westport, crown center or downtown, 9 times out of ten it's a JoCo car. But those are probably the same people that get on I-35 going 45mph and fly over into the left lane.

Seriously worst big city drivers ever. I think it has to do with so many people in KC being from rural areas or small towns.
Where have you been KCMO! Kansas City drivers the worst! Not by a very, very, very longshot! Try St. Louis, Detroit, LA, Chicago, New Jersey, Atlanta. After a stressful week of driving in STL, it is almost relaxing to drive in KC especially Johnson County! I have found KC drivers on both sides of the state line to be polite.

disclaimer: I've heard of this being shown in church before, to show that we sometimes isolate ourselves a little too much.... or maybe a little self-deprecation, if you will....

Pretty much all of Liberty is nice. Gladstone is okay. Just avoid, and I cant stress this enough, avoid North Kansas City. It stinks something fierce up there. I asked the clerk at QT if it always smelled like that and he replied with a "Yes but I've live here for so long I dont notice it anymore" answer.

No joke. Kansas City drivers are a ray of sunshine compared to the drivers in the cities you just listed. KCMO must be from some small one stop light town where everybody waves at everybody as they drive by each other.

Nope, born and raised in KCMO. But I have driven extensively in every major city. I have also lived in Chicago and St Louis.

I would MUCH rather drive in Chicago or Denver or Seattle or NYC than KC.

But you make my point exactly.

People in KC are TOO laid back. So much so that 90% of them are oblivious to what is going on around them.

They don't use turn signals, they drive slow in the left lanes, they drive way too far apart unless it icy or snow packed, then these same people turn into aggressive morons. People in KC drive 45mph during rush hour not because the freeway is crowded, but just because it's rush hour. During rush hour, people are driving 35mph with a mile of open lane in front of them, in the left lane.

People don't use dual turn lanes. People in KC will wait through 3 signals or take an extra hour to get into a sports venue so long as they don’t have to move over and use those dual lanes.

And People are on the phone more in metro KC than any other city I have ever seen.

I have to honk my horn from four cars back when people don’t go when a light turns green because the first three cars are on the phone or “being nice” and patiently waiting for the moron in the front of the line to go.

If you are one of these oblivious drivers I can see how you would think that KC is a nice place to drive, because if you drive 50mph in the left lane (or any lane) in Chicago or try to get on the freeway going 45mph in LA, you will get run off the freeway.

I love KC. But It’s full of country bumpkin and soccer mom drivers.
