Question Need Hair dresser for mixed little girl/half black and hispanic

My daughter has mixed hair. Not coarse, but curly thick hair. She has a lot of it.She's only 4, but she needs to get her hair cut, styled and flat ironed. Hopefully someone who can get it done in 2 hours or less.
We really are in need of a hairdresser that is familiar with her type of mixed hair. I thought maybe a Dominican or Puertorican hairdresser might do a good job, being that they have all hair types. If anyone knows of a hairdresser that might fit the bill then let me know. I'm willing to go as Kansas if I have to. We live near the Belton area, so Kansas city, Lees SUmmit, Independence and Overland Park are not out of the question. Help.

Thanks!

PS
We recently had a bad experience at
a high end salon, its not about the $$
its about the quality.

Smile I'm a type 2B!

Hi,

I wanted to recommend a website to you (I have no affiliation, other than being a type 2B curly girl...)

NaturallyCurly.com -- Where Curls Come to Life

There are some GREAT messageboards over there that can help w/ caring for her hair. As well, there is a section that you can pick what area you live in & it will show you stylists that are familiar w/ her hair type!

Good luck raising a little one who is proud of her hair!

-Jocelyn

I have the same type of hair as your daughter and so do my two daughters. These guys specialize in curly hair. They all do good work, but Lindsey is the "Curl Godess" you won't be unhappy. Also I think the cuts are $35 I'm sure it would be less for kids. Just go to google and type in curly hair kansas city and you'll see what I mean. good luck... I know this was an old post. But these guys are worth checking out.

Thumbs up New Creations Salon was great...Thanx for the guidance..5 STARS

I made an appointment at New Creations based on the recommendations from this site. When I got there, I didn't know that my stylist, Katie, was in the middle of her first week.. If it hadn't come up in conversation, I wouldn't have known it from the cut and color she gave me either--she did an AMAZING job. She and Sandra, the owner, consulted with me in detail about the color. They ended up doing two separate foils to give me a multidimensional, rich color that is without doubt the best I've ever had in 20 years of coloring my hair. As for the cut, I sort of vaguely described what I had in mind, and Katie understood perfectly and gave me a gorgeous cut. My friends can't stop complimenting me on it a week later. I left with a bunch of samples and some new products (which I needed--they didn't pressure me to buy them), looking better than I have in ages. Plus, Sandra and her whole staff are incredibly friendly and make you feel at home.Curly hair is what these guys are about. I have NEVER learned more about my hair more. It has really made me feel more confident with my hair. The relaxed, fun atmosphere was a rare treat and I really enjoyed it. I'll be going back to New Creations for as long as I live in KC.

Salon LaRon and ask for Amina. However this will not be cheap. JC Penney at Oak Park Mall and ask for Pam. Her son is biracial, and she takes care of my girls hair (both are also biracial).
