Default Leaving KC/Independence

the place is becoming a hell-hole...

Moving to the country, where kids can play unsupervised outside.

As much as I like living in the city, I think I'd have to agree with that.

Some might think, "well that's just Independence", but it isn't. The problem is all over the metro, like it or not.

Others might say that problems are everywhere now, not just in the city. That's true.. to an extent. You still have to do your research on those rural areas, because some of them aren't too great, either. There's plenty of good places left out there, though.

Maybe it's because I grew up in a rural area, but what I see in larger cities is ridiculous. More people, more problems. Everyone is on edge and in a hurry. They all get on each other's nerves. It breeds crime and indifference.
People don't seem to care about each other very much. They're too busy to care.

I barely know any of my neighbors. I might as well be out in the wilderness all alone. At least out there, I wouldn't hear traffic, sirens, and trains.
