Chicago-Eman is on a distinguished road
Sorry for the delay in updating this thread. My computer died and was negotiating details about the offer with the company. After too much time and lots of thought, I will be moving to Missouri for this new exciting position. Since my territory will include Kansas, Missouri and Central/Southern Illinois we (the company and I) decided I should live in St. Louis.

So, thank you all for all the great responses and I will be a fellow Missourian (sp?), but based out of St. Louis. I will be spending ample time in KC so will be around asking questions about where to go and what to see. And if any of you have any experience living in St. Louis I will need help in that arena as well.

Thanks again,
Eman

I really didn't have a grasp on what Chicago style was until I moved to KC. The Dish in Liberty I think is really close. DEEP, gooey dish pizza with the sauce on top... now I've got to go there this weekend...
St. Louis style pizza is what I like to refer to as puke on a cracker. It is VERY highly overrated. The main problem with it is the cheese. St. Louis style pizza is thin crust with provel cheese. The problem with using provel cheese is the texture is more like old horse glue than anything else when used on pizza. The unfortunate thing about it is the ONLY places in St. Louis that don't serve St. Louis style pizza are the major chains. Nearly EVERY mom and pop type pizza place makes the Imo's (St. Louis) style puke on a cracker.

Congrats on your decision to move to STL. I am pretty sure you will enjoy the city.

Yup, the Imo's type, St. Louis style of pizza is worthless. There's at least one Imo's here in KC, and I ate it so I could form an opinion, and, GOD. I've had better Totino's Party Pizzas from Aldi, cooked in a damned toaster oven.

St. Louis itself, though, yeah, it's a'ight. Forest Park is one of my favorite parks.

Be sure to check out the Union Hill neighborhood, especially since you live in the Lincoln Park area in Chicago. It is definitely where young professions live, work and play.
I wish KC had a lightrail system - then it would be perfect (for me anyway).

I have been here over 5 years, sadly there isn't much to do here. If you are looking for that big urban lifestyle, you won't find it here. Example: I was downtown the other evening about 5pm, there were only 3 people walking the streets, so there isn't much of a "city" feel here. I'd go to a better city than this.

Why do you choose to live here if you don't like it? Are you stuck here for employment reasons or something?

I also have to wonder what it is you like to do, since I've never once been bored here since moving here. There's ALWAYS something to do, and things are usually well-publicized.
