Default New IMAX in Independence?

I was at the shopping center on 39th and I-470 in independence across I-70 from the new ice rink and I saw that the AMC 20 there had a sign that they was a new IMAX coming soon? Does anyone know anything about this?

Haven't read anything about it, but I don't doubt it. Other AMC's have them, like the one up on Barry Road.

I read some info about IMAX upgrading a number of theaters across the country, they're pretty nice, though not as impressive as the full sized traditional ones you see at museums usually. To do the upgrade, the theaters usually end up bringing the screen forward 50 ft. or so, and making it bigger. Sound system also gets a pretty major upgrade, and they do some acoustic modification to the walls I think. From what I remember when I saw a movie in IMAX at AMC (Barry Road), it costs about $3-$5 more than watching it in non-IMAX format.
