Default Houses in Brookside

We are likely moving to Kansas City and from what we've read and seen when we visited, Brookside may be a good transition for us coming from Chicago. As I mentioned in another post, we want a neighborhood with an urban feel where we can walk to restaurants, parks and shops. We have been perusing houses online and love the outside of houses but the insides all seem older and dated. Are there many houses in Brookside that have been gut rehabbed or totally redone? (Open floor plan / kitchen, granite countertops, big master bathrooms, high-end finishes, SS appliances, etc.) We don't need or even want big, but we want a newer / updated interior and that possibly seems hard to come by.

We'll find out more when we go out with a real estate agent but online it looks like it may be tough to find what we want. Thanks again for your input.

Sure there is. You will just have to find one. One thing about Brookside, people tend to stay there once they buy. You might have to find something and do some minor upgrades. But I'm sure you will also find some that are modern and move in ready.

Thanks. We found a better local real estate web site that shows more houses. Now I feel silly for the question! Thanks again.

By the way, I drive through Brookside on a daily basis, we own two housed on the edge of Brookside and there are properties on every street for sale in every neighborhood. You should have no trouble at all finding at house.

Thanks for the info. The site I've been looking at is kcurbanliving.com. (I think that's what it is...) I will check out the site you recommend as well. Looks like there are a lot of great houses in the Brookside neighborhood.
