Default Overland Park to downtown commute

My wife and I are considering a move to Southern Overland Park. What's the commute like to and from downtown from around 135th and Highway 69?

Depending on how close you are to 69, half hour in light traffic and 40-60 minutes in heavy traffic? That would be my guess.

US-69 can be a mess, especially right now since they are widening it north of 435. Then they will widen it south of 435, so 69 will be a mess for many years to come. Good thing is you can always jump over to 35, but it's messy at times to. 71 is annoying with the slow speed limits and traffic signals. You could go right up through the city on surface streets and do in pretty quickly too if you make your way over to the Ward Parkway and SW Trafficway corridors. That would probably be 35-40 minutes, but at least it would be consistent. You never know what you will get on the interstates, it could be 25 minutes one day and over an hour the next.

that's close to where we live. BH works downtown. Makes it in about 25 minutes most days. But he generally tries to plan his days to leave a little early and miss the worst of the traffic.
