I cannot speak to other parts of the state but yes, there is a substantial hispanic population in the KC Metro area. The West bottoms and along SW Boulevard on the KS side is where you would find it most concentrated. Also Shawnee, KS and Olathe.

You mean the West "Side". not bottoms and the hispanic areas along SW Blvd are on the KS side and MO side, actually, the MO side is where most of the hispanic businesses and residential areas are. KCK has quite a few hispanic areas though. There are pockets in most suburbs as well. Last I heard, the hispanic population in metro KC was a couple hundred thousand.

People on the coast always think KC is boring, but in reality, it's not all that different than any major midsized metropolitan area.

Compared to other Midwestern cities (besides Chicago), the Hispanic population of Kansas City is huge. But compared to cities in Texas, California and Arizona, it's miniscule.

The Hispanic population in KCK runs deep. With Argentine Steel, the Sante fe Trail, Golden Glove Champs, During the Clinton Administration I heard a KCMO radio talk show host saythat a single hispanic family in KCK had a Lawyer in Wyandotte Co. Government , The state of Kansas Government and in the Clinton Administration, all as Attorneys Generals

When we lived in Olathe, there was a decent Hispanic population (especially closer to old town Olathe), there also seemed to be quite a few Hispanics close to the Roeland Park area, and north on 18th Street going towards my wife's old school (Bishop Ward).
