Kansas City is on a distinguished road
Yes, Aerospace is huge here. It's the only thing here, I am not debating that.
What i am saying is that the Mid-Continent Airport is a joke.

Last April i flew to Nashville, Tenn from KCI. I saved $150.00 dollars by flying out of KC not Wichita.

Genius? No, i was not being clear with my statement.

Fly KCI

It just depends. I've flown out of Wichita, Kansas City, Dallas, Dulles, Reaghan National and many others. Every airport has its pluses and minuses. Most big cities would laugh at KCI because of its size and lack of amenities but sometimes they are more convenient to get in and out of. fyi - flew from Wichita to Thailand earlier this year (with some stops on the way) and it was the same price as flying out of Dallas. You seem hell bent on slandering Wichita (in favor of Kansas City) but your arguments aren't fair nor believable by most reading this forum. Just fyi - this is coming from someone who is reluctantly moving to Wichita due to my aerospace engineer husband's job so I'm not out to defend Wichita per se but to hear a fair assessment of it.

Speaking of observations, their was recently a article printed in Wichita's newspaper.
The name of the article is,"A matter of Pride", "How can Wichita boost it's self-image" It was printed in Sunday's paper and can be viewed by visiting their website http://www.kansas.com/mld/kansas/.

I think this article is fair and believable

Thank you for posting. The article and the comments (I read all 8 pages that had been posted as of now) were all very insightful.

[quote=Kansas City;182155]I wouldn't say Wichita is 10 yrs behind other US cities. I would say it's 30 yrs behind other US cities.>
You're exactly right. The traffic is like the '60's; the crime is like the '50's, the pollution is like the...oh wait...there IS no pollution here; the citizens actually vote here (like the '50's). What exactly is it that you're MISSING?
(we got them newfangled compooters 'n cell phonies and new moovies down at the movie house...new cars...new clothes...OHHHH it's the modern rush of life "me first" attitude that we're missing...now I get it).

Wichita has always had a crime problem...check stats..Last year the EPA listed all the neighborhoods in Wichita with poor air quality. Some where very bad. You might want to read the paper on occasion.

I totally agree!!! I stopped flying out of there a year ago. I use to fly out of there twice if not more a year.

Again, Wichita is full of crime. I could never live in an area where there's at least one shooting a day. I know there's "some" nice neighborhoods in Wichita, but the crime would just turn me off so bad from moving there, and I have thought about moving there a few years back.
