Most people I know either moved to the larger urban areas of eastern Kansas or left the state for better job opportunities.
I started a thread concerning the Sunflower facility at Holcomb. Evidently it ended up somewhere it didn't get noticed or those who did notice, aren't interested. Though every job is important, my understanding is few permanent jobs will be created.

That's what I've gathered, too. It will be labor intensive to build, but not so much so far as operation.

(BTW, I went backward. I grew up in eastern Nebraska in an economically healthy area and am currently building a house in Cheyenne Co, KS. My husband ranches.)

Even more so is the new, unneeded, named-after-a-drunken-politician bridge across the Missouri river being built in KC. But that doesn't stop it from being touted.

Or the widening of 69 highway between I435 and I35, which will accomplish little more than pouring money into Clarkson Construction's pockets while inconveniencing motorists for two years.

At least the power plant will need a janitor or something.
