Default Kansas eviction law

Kansas....My brother recently passed away, it was unexpected. He has an apt behind his house and had recently moved his girlfriend in. When we got to his house to secure it she had broken in (through an unlocked window) and taken some things out of the house. We did not say anything because she was acting distraught. Two of us were securing windows and every time we would lock them they mysteriously became unlocked after the girlfriend was in the room again. This happened three times. We left and forgot something and found her trying again to gain access to his house. There is NO contract, NO rent has ever been paid, and she is after something in the house. Is there anyway we can have her removed from the property ASAP since she won't stop entering the home she has been told to stay out of? [/FONT]

There is not contract or rent so you can pretty much just tell her to get off the property and if not call the police and they will remove her just like they would a complete stranger for trespassing.

This doesn't fall under "eviction laws" since she is not a renter.

I understand she is causing trouble but perhaps you can cut her some slack instead of just throwing her out on the street. Give her a month or so and tell her that if the house is entered again she will be out on the street the same day?

you need to go to see the clerk of court, and file a writ of ejectment. Ten days from the service of the writ of ejectment, she will be served a writ of eviction If she was allowed to live there, you have to go through the system to evict her. I use to live in White City, KS. The laws are pretty cut and dry. save yourself a headache and do it the legal way

I got a LARGE storage unit recently for my car for the winter months and the first month was like $1 plus $19 set up fee and then the 2nd month is $130 etc. with no minimum.

So for 2 months it's about $160 with tax etc. for a Large unit. I used Public Storage.
