I'll be moving there in the summer. I just need to know how it is if you've visited, lived, or already live there. How's weather, high schools, people, etc...?

Thank you.

We have lived in a few different cities and Salina is my most favorite city in Kansas. The location is just ideal for taking off anywhere yet it has everything you need without being part of a massive metropolis. We always planned to move back there some day and might just make it. They had an Air Force Base at one time which grew and diversified the town in good ways. It is the service area for many of the surrounding towns so you have that extra population coming in to beef up the economy. You have a good mix of different kinds of people. I can't give you any specific information on schools or neighborhoods but you can easily get a "feel" when you get there. The weather is anymore, anyone's guess since everyone across the US is seeing record breaking highs and lows. You can get some general information on the main page of this website, not the forum, and go to the bottom of the page, click "Kansas" and then the size of the town population wise and it will give you current stats.

Two public schools? If you're talking about high schools, Salina South. I'm partial though, that's where my kids went, when we lived in Salina.

Salina has a really good parks and rec department. The fees for participating in activities are very reasonable. Official City of Salina, Kansas Website - Recreation Overview They've got a new aquatic park. The City of Salina's Kenwood Cove Waterpark

I haven't lived there for a number of years, but I'd move back in a heartbeat! I love that town. Hopefully, someone who does still live there can give you up to date information on the public schooling situation. When we were there, my kids thrived. Best of luck to you.

When we lived in Salina, Salina South was the high school that most seemed to feel was the best and with its location, I would tend to have agreed based on that factor alone. Also, as an adult, I attended KTI (now a part of KSU) on the GI Bill and met many good students coming in from Salina South.
