I am interested in relocating to Bird City, KS. Does anyone on the forum know the churches that they have in town?

My grandparents lived in McDonald, Kansas (just down the road). I remember going through Bird City about 38 years ago...it was nice then and probably still is. Anyway here is their web site. Just click on business and then search for churches (you will get 5 hits).

I grew up in one of those wind-blown, hottest-in-summer, coldest-in-winter, nothing-to-do little towns in KS, and younger people's ambition was to get out. I did. Now I'm 62 and I realize the wisdom of my mother's attitude, "Heres where I am, I'm happy here, I've got what I need, and why would you want to move so far away". But I still wouldn't want to go back there. Maybe you can afford to buy most of the county and be a land baron? JUst curious. I have to retire somewhere, too. I remember as a kid, a man who had grown up there moved back in retirement from his career in Seattle,
to one of the biggest, nicest, houses in town. |

I grew up in Bird City. They have the basic set of rural Kansas religious organizations. Bird City has a Catholic Church, Methodist, Lutheran, Baptist, First Christian, etc. Why on earth are you moving to Bird City? It is just a dot on the map...I would think that Atwood would be at least a step up...just a thought.
