Default College Hill Wichita area?

My family and I are moving to Wichita. My wife and I are looking into the College Hill area. Is this a nice area? Good neighborhood for children? Any information or suggestions would be great!

Thanks,

Sean

Default college hill

I have a friend that lives in College Hill. She seems to like it. Never heard any complaints from her about the area. She has three children that all go to public schools and i far as i know the schools are ok. I live just outside of Wichita, In Andover so that is about all the info that I can give you on that area. It also has alot of trees. now, Im all out of info.

College Hill is a nice, older area. A fair number of the homes have large shade trees which give the neighborhood a nice "feel".

One thing to be aware of is that some of the older homes in CH have had water leaks in their basements over the years. That isn't a reason to avoid the whole neighborhood, just something you may wish to have a home inspector check out.

Caveat on the school comment that follows: I moved away from Wichita in 2001, so the schools may have changed since then. College Hill isn't terribly far from Wichita Collegiate or Kapaun-Mt Carmel (private schools), and College Hill Elementary is on 2nd St near Rutan (? I'm not sure of the cross-street. It was located just a few blocks east of Hillside on 2nd street.)

Good luck on finding the best place for you and your family!
