One suggestion is that the people traveling west bound on 435 approaching metcalf.....get over to the two left hand lanes.

I see an amazing number of vehicles come RACING up in the slow lane and then seem surprised when all the people merging on from Metcalf come over into "thier" lane (while the left-most 2 lanes keep moving).

This causes the far right lane to grind to a stop and then the same people have to pull out into the left lanes at slow speeds and cause the people there to have to put the brakes on.

As a general rule, I see WAY too many drivers around the KC metro area that think that the right hand lane is the lane you should drive in at all times even if you are a fast driver. The left lanes are NOT passing lanes....they're there to be used. Let the slower merging traffic enter the highway and you will get where you are going faster too.

Edited to add that I see the same junk on eastbound 435 in the morning. Cars merging on from 69 and the right hand lane is packed with cars while the far left lanes are cruising right along. <sigh>

The traffic can be quite ugly in that area as well as the surrounding landscape. I think I-435 has gotten even uglier visually because of the massive construction and expansion of the highway. The noise levels are also terrible even with the sound barriers. I know someone who lives at least 5-10 blocks away from I-435 and the highway noise is VERY loud.
