Need help on Great Bend, KS?? (crime, purchasing, college)

Hello,

Does anyone know if this part of Kansas is growing? How's the downtown area of Great Bend? Is there activity going on or is it pretty quite and slow?
I'm looking into purchasing an office building however I wouldn't want to be stuck w/ it if I can't get it rented.

Any info as to what is happening in Great Bend would be great...

Not too much in Great Bend. There is a college there. Walmart and some small dept stores. I lived there for 1 year. It isn't a bad town, just not a whole lot of stuff. Rents are fairly cheap as well. I found the people very polite and I don't think there is much crime there.
