I have fond memories of east Lawrence, out on 15th St. across from the cemetery. As a young girl, I and my brothers and our friends would play baseball in the open field. Now the veteran’s field and memorial are there. At that time there was no fence. Some new houses have been built in the area. Most of the houses on the south side of 15th were built in the 1950’s and 60’s on the north side the houses are older; until you get close to Massachusetts St. Although Lawrence is a collage town in the east part of town you would not know it.
