Our family also left Cherryvale in 1955. At that time I was in the fourth grade at McKinley Elementary (didn't remember that there were two elem. schools in town). Have great memories of those years! Have not been back since. Our family moved to Oregon where most of us still live, except for myself, and I have lived in Virginia for 30+ years now. I, also, would love to hear from anyone who might have lived in C-vale in the early to mid-fifties.

I was born and raised in Cherryvale graduating CHS 1959. I remember the Faulkenberry's. I believe they lived on E. 7th St. and he was a pastor. I think the family moved to Arkansas. Went to school with Oyler's and I started my 37 year newspaper career at the Cherryvale Republican.

Thought I might chime in. I am new to the Cherryvale area as of a bit over a year ago. I know one family from there with the last name of Wagoner. It's a neat town.

I used to deliver The Cherryvale Republican. Editor was Pryor Campbell.
We used to fold our papers along the sidewalk by Clayton's Hardware.

I lived across the street from the Campbells on E 4th.

Delivered papers North of main street, east of the tracks.

Would anyone be interested in attending the Cherryvale Commissioners meeting the third Monday of this month about concerns on drainage problems. If so please let me know.Leoaugust17
